Did you use a cheap distributor module or GM? Check the wiring going to it...

Open the Fuel Door and Cap have someone turn the key 'on'. You should hear the pump for 2 seconds. Doesn't mean that it is good, but if you don't hear the pump it's definitely BAD (possible relay)!...

I would only try and get either MOOG or TRW front end parts. It's a little more $$$ but much better quality. If you buy Autozones stuff, you be doing to twice... just my $.02 worth...

You have a 60* motor. Most trannys that you will find are for 90* motors. They may make a conversion plate... but you should find a 60* 700R4 tranny...

Cleaning your TB is a good idea...but using WD-40 i think is a bad idea...just use a TB cleaner (not carb clearner)... it has to O2 safe...
