Re: Recommended lug nuts for CTW wheels

Incorrect, you cannot use factory lugs with CTW wheels, the lug pocket is too small. You will need a smaller diameter lug, I recommend spline drive lugs.

Re: IROC in wheel hell 18x10 square, big brakes F+R

In theory with an 18" x 10" wheel you would need a BS of 5.75" or offset of 6mm to fit flush with the fenders. But any sort of changes to the hub position or rear end width will alter this baseline....

Re: New wheels / square or stagger / offset fitment

If I were you, the 9.5" wheels with the 275-35 tires would be the only way to go since they should fit with those specs.

Re: Hawk's 17" GTA & IROC Wheels - 285/40-17?

A 275 tire does not look "stretched out" on a 9" wheel, in fact the wheel is a bit too narrow for that tire, a 9.5" or 10" is the optimal size. There is only a 1" difference in sidewall between a...

Re: What is best? 17x9.5 all the way around? 17x8 up front?

You really want the same size (square setup) on all 4 corners for best balance, handling, and braking.

That said, a 275-40-17 is the optimal size in 17", 275-35-18 is a great size for 18" wheels....

Re: 255 vs 275 tire for Maximum Grip

While a 255 width might be the optimal size for a 9" wheel, the additional 20mm of tire per corner will probably give better grip in an autocross situation. This is assuming the same tire in both 255...

Incorrect - 225-50-16 is about 1" shorter than the stock 245-50-16. 225-55-16 is the correct swap out size for the OEM 245-50-16 size.

18" x 9.5" or 18" x 10" - don't even bother with 9" wide unless you are going to make the 10" also. 275-35-18 is perfect on a 10" wheel, 285-35-18 works just as well. I personally wouldn't go wider...

That is a problem with the pad mounting height. R15 wheels are similar in terms of rear of the wheel spokes to face of the caliper clearance, just like the GTA wheels - including the Hawks 17".
