Replacing intake gaskets, couple questions
I was getting moisture in my oil, and loosing coolant. Thought it was a head gasket, but I checked the plugs and they all looked good. Narrowed it down to leaking intake gasket (3 of the bolts were...

Re: Intake manifold splash shield removal?
It looks like your intake has the 5 raised ribs where a shield could be installed, was there never one on there?

Re: Intake manifold splash shield removal?
It's a carb intake, injected intakes may not have the shield. I've searched for pics of the bottom of a 2.8 intake but couldn't find any. I guess no one ever takes pics of the bottom.

Intake manifold splash shield removal?
Has anyone ever removed the splash shield from the bottom of a 2.8 intake? How did you do it? It's riveted on with steel rivets, I know I could grind them off, but how would I re-attach it? Is it...

Re: Reuse old or buy new head bolts?
I've rebuilt several engines before and always reused the head bolts, except once. Cleaned them good with a wire wheel and chased the threads in the block, used sealant on the ones that went into...

Reuse old or buy new head bolts?
About to replace blown head gasket on a 2.8. Are the head bolts reuseable, or do I need to buy new ones? Anyone here ever reused them and not had any problems?

Re: Recommendation: Which Distributor for 2.8L V6 (1984)?
To answer the original question, I would use a distributor for a 1985 S10. I have one, and it's not a HEI (has a separate coil mounted on a bracket on the passenger side).
Each vacuum port on...

Re: v8 transmission on to a 60* engine 2.8
Speedway Motors ( http://www.speedwaymotors.com/ ) makes an adapter to put a Chevy pattern TH350 on a 2.5/2.8 block. I think it would work for the 700r4 as well.

Re: 2.8 Varajet carb vacuum hose question, PICS
:thanks:
Thanks for the info, that's how I have it hooked up. I put a tee on port B and ran one line to the vacuum advance and one to the TCC switch. I capped ports C and D, I think they...

2.8 Varajet carb vacuum hose question, PICS
My question is about my 1985 GMC S15 with the LR2 2.8 and varajet carb. (non-CCC). I'm hoping someone on here has similar experience with their 2.8 Camaro/Firebird. I'm removing/replacing my rotted...
