Ok so last night I did the following:

Replaced the lower hose
Replaced the thermostat
Flushed the coolant system
Replaced the plugs and wires
Changed the oil and filter (Synthetic 5W30)

Oh and btw, it won't stall at a stop because the factory purple wire runs through a brake switch that disconnects the lockup solenoid whenever the brake is pressed at all.

I might just bite the bullet and buy new springs for the rear. Also, the springs i have on there now are so worn out that one side it practically has a 2 - 3" drop. I like the way it looks dropped...

You are right, it is out of a 1981 1ton, with an automatic tranny.
