Re: 4l80e swap slip yoke question

That might just be the ticket. Think my output shafts splines are 5.5" and it has that goofy sleeve on it that looks like a small soda can. Will contact the sonnex folks and make sure this will work...

Re: 4l80e swap slip yoke question

Appreciate that. Yes. The 4l80 was in a delivery van I believe. So will be doing what you suggested probably and installing a fixed yoke with a driveshaft that slips. Maybe there's a after market...

Re: 4l80e swap slip yoke question

So the measured engagement of slip yoke to output shaft as far as yoke fitting over the output shaft is 1.75 inches. That seems way too short. A second question is, the output shaft has a fair amount...

Thatsupnow, thanks for the information. Yes the driveshaft was shortened and balanced at a drive line shop. The new yoke was installed when they did it. So you're also using the stock driveshaft with...

4l80e swap slip yoke question

Swapped out the old 700 with a 4l80e and it's been a night and day difference. Drives like a totally different car. Think half the hp was getting eaten up by the old 700 POS which I could never get...

Re: Choosing a torque converter

So to sum up KingtalOns post's, shifter position D4 should be used for cruising only? When racing or WOT, make sure to drop down into D3? Seems simple enough.
