I had same problem,after all these years inside of hoses releases material that makes your brakes fail.
New steel braided hoses is an excellent way to go as an update and to cure the problem :)

I have used 3 B&M converters in my cars and have had luck with them even dumped a 150 shot of gas on 383sbc and that of the shelf 3000 stall B&M converter made it all summer and i whipped it badly....

I think it sounds like the water temp sensor that sits at the front of the intake that feeds info to the ECM,if defect it will tell the ECM its like well below freecing point and the car will run...

Check the resistance of the injectors should read around 15-16ohms.
Remember to check them cold and also when engine is hot,not unusual that they are ok cold but when warm not ok on the same...

I have yellow Konis and Eibach springs in all four corners and Lakewood panhard/control arms in the back also i have polybushings...

This might be a longshot but i recollect reading on Camarosource that cars equipped with option N96(16inch alu wheels only aviable to Irocs)also recieved a bigger bearing in the hub.
