probably much more common in this place is the pump. it could be the hoses or it could be the pump too, mine still leaks ,but its the hoses on mine. Someday i'll get around to that. Just for testing...

9 bolt rear ends are actually stronger though not by much and parts are extremely hard to find to the 9 bolts (and much pricier). my choice would be a 10 bolt of course.

you do have to remember though, motorcycles are very very tune sensitive. When your working with less than a 1 liter motor and pushing almost 200 hp it's bound to be pretty picky to keep happy.........

personally i'd run 75w90 mobil 1 synthetic ,but any 75w90 gear oil will do the trick.

as for additives i'm not sure if yours requires one ,but i know for a fact mobile 1 has the posi additive...

as long as your heads are side bolt valve covers they are the older 416 casting head most likely...... although i beleive 601s were of the same era and same old style bolt pattern..... only one way...
