1982 firebird 4spd to 5 spd swap

Is it a big deal to go from a 4spd with mechanical linkage to a 5 spd out of a 83 or newer. Will it just be plug and play? or am I gonna have jun. No I am not doing a 6spd yet.....kids and wife eat...
