I installed mine wtihout a compressor. Install the spring into the pocket. wrap a safety chain around the spring in case it slips. jack the car up as far as you can until the car starts to come off...

You CAN NOT install springs without compressing them in some way. If a spring is not compressed after proper installation, WHY would you need them?

The springs can not be installed without compressing them. The point of a spring is to provide resistance to compression. What would be the point of coil springs if they are not under compression?...

It was perfect till about 300 miles ago. It started to not shift into 3rd unless I let off the pedal. Now it is 2nd and third. It is perfect as long as i don't try to give it more than about 1/3...

I did a search but did not find this exact problem. My 700 on my old beater will not upshift unless I let off the pedal to about 1/4. If I give it anymore it will downshift and the engine will rev up...

I bought a new balancer and it went right on. Now everything lines up. I used a 14" adj. wrench and the install tool with the old one and it would not go all the way in. I couldn't see any difference...

I don't like the idea of cutting the balancer either. I found out through Summit tech that they do make spacers for the water pump.

When I spent $570 for a GM setup I expected it to be right but...

I have never used 1 before...
