Only alternative is to get in line at an actual restoration type shop which will get even more expensive real quick.

Most shops don't do repairs...

To do a factory fresh proper restoration is not a feasible way to make money on anything thirdgen. Maybe one day, but no where near now. Turbo Trans Ams and Firehawks will be the big ones, followed...

Thing was intact even after I got out picked it up and threw it back into the air in disgust.

Sold the set off actually :-)

Ideally you want someone who can get it on a dyno and work on timing and fuel and idle.

Then go thru the motions on the street and datalogging to clean up...
