I finally got it figured out. I went with the power master 47461. It has the side mount. The alternator body still touches the valve cover, but just barely. The last 2 pics are the old alternator....

I am trying to find something like this but with the serpentine pulley. I don't have an alternator or I would just take the pulley off.

1: comp cams does have a misc. Section at the end of their cam recommendation request. That just asks if there is anything else they need to know.

It is an 89 iroc. 383sbc, 2.77 gears ( these will probably be changed to 3.43or3.77). The converter will be whatever works best with the setup. Weight 3500#, it is a mostly street daily driver....

Common sense would think that Google would be helpful. Unfortunately what I have found through using Google is that there are a lot of locksmiths that are useless if the key doesn't have a key code...

I am locking for a locksmith that can cut a new key for exterior locks. I don't have the original key. Has anybody dealt with this? I've been told they can. But everyone I call says they can't.
