Re: Running badly after giving gas in gear

One year later, and I'm still struggling with issues. My car runs "okay" now, but has a ~1s hesitation when giving gas in park at idle. My RPMS actually drop for a split second before increasing....

Re: Running badly after giving gas in gear

Been busy, but time for an update:

Replaced fuel filter, tested + cleaned fuel injectors, replaced fuel pump, and replaced ignition coil... Still giving the same issue. When in gear, and given any...

Re: Running badly after giving gas in gear

Thanks for the input. I just put on new plugs and wires 1000km ago. Weekend bucket list: clean out injectors, replace fuel filter, try old spark plug wires. If all else fails, I'll replace my janky...

Re: 305 tpi mt throttle hesitation off idle

I had an issue similar to this. Car would bog down before reving up when given gas. It was my MAF sensor relay.

You can check by un-plugging your MAF sensor, and then start the car and see if the...

Running badly after giving gas in gear

Hi all, I've been playing around with my car (87 305 tpi auto) for some time and have not been able to have it running well recently. When I start it, it idles perfectly fine, and is very responsive...

What is this wire / harness and where does it go?

Putting my engine back together and I can't figure out where this pigtail plugs into. It's on an 87 tpi and it's located just behind the driver side valve cover, extending roughly the length to the...

Re: Charcoal Canister Alternative?

Okay, thanks guys. In favor of not effecting anything on the car, I will look into a diy rebuild.

Charcoal Canister Alternative?

Hey yall, I've been doing some research about replacing / removing the charcoal canister on my car, but haven't really found a definitive answer for my idea. I see lots of people claim to just cap...

Re: Help decoding flashing engine codes

Thanks for the info (and laugh) Drew. This happened while jumping. I will try a new wire tomorrow tomorrow in case I was using a bad one.

Update: Tried again with a new wire and got the codes. 14...

Re: Help decoding flashing engine codes

Yeah, I'll post another video tomorrow once I finish replacing the dash lights. If it helps, the "Clicking" in the video was in sync with the flashing.

Help decoding flashing engine codes

Wondering if anyone can help me figure out what my car is telling me. I've tried decoding it myself, but the sequence is too fast for me to understand.

Re: 3rd gen Headers

Thank you for the offer, but I've been advised to avoid the flowtechs and similar brands. I'm hoping to find something mid-range.

3rd gen Headers

Looking for a decent pair of shorty headers. Y-Pipe would be nice, but not necessary. Had my eye's on a set of hooker 2460's with a custom made 3" Y pipe, but open to whatever is available!

Re: Interior Torx Screw Size?

Thanks guys, though I was talking about pitch and width sizes. (The ones I found online are machined screws, with many more threads I believe). I will likely do what @fteufert said and check out a...

Interior Torx Screw Size?

I have looked all over, but I cannot find what the "standard" sizing of the generic black torx socket cap screws are. Specifically, the ones along my dash and center console/radio plate. I have seen...

Re: Compnine a VIN

Ahhh, no wonder my car squats so low... I only have 1 spring in the rear!!

Jk, I'm thinking the code 8NL is the rear left, likely part of the "upgraded" iroc suspension package. The fixed antenna...

Compnine a VIN

Could someone run this VIN and post the results?

Edit: JT has scanned it for me!

The site says it has a full build sheet, it's just hidden behind a membership fee :lock:

Re: G92 and KC4 rpo questions

It's been taken off before I got the car. No build sheet in either side of the trunk wheel wells either.

Gah, I wish I could find it. I will be tearing my car apart searching for any kind of build sheet or codes over the next weeks!

Re: G92 and KC4 rpo questions

Revive, I know... But I just wanted to mention that I have an 87 iroc LG4 WITH the J65 brake package... All sources I see require the car to come with a tpi motor for the 4 wheel disc brake. I'm a...

Re: What year engine do I have? (LB9)

Actually, the car came with a factory LG4, so I doubt any of it was re-used :P And it was a private seller. I had my doubts that it was a 350, but I still hoped. I will check out the intake bolts...

What year engine do I have? (LB9)

Lo and behold the "l98 swapped" engine in my car has a very faint and rusty looking "5.0" badge on the driver side of the block by the firewall. Oh well! I'm curious to know if I got a higher or...

350 TPI V-Belt Routing -> AC Compressor?

I have an 87 with a 350 in it, and I'm trying to figure out some alternate v-belt routing options, but everything I find is for 88+ (serpentine) cars.
Anyways, lets get into it. My car currently has...
