Re: 1992 Camaro 3.1L V6 Manual Transmission Options

As far as I'm aware, I believe the T5 is the only manual trans that would bolt up to 1 2.8/3.1 without some sort of fabrication work. Don't believe anyone makes a bellhousing for the T56 to bolt up...

Re: AIR Pump Delete

If its already running a shorter belt, that's most of the delete done already. You can unbolt it from the block no problem. Not sure if the exhaust side of the pump is any different on a carbed 2.8...

TL;DR: Put in metal gears a few years ago, one side is now seemingly spinning freely out of nowhere despite the gears still being in perfect shape

Re: Heater Core Cover Removal 92 Firebird

Yeah, getting the old hoses off was a real pain. Thankfully I'd done that about a week earlier when I ran the bypass hose, but I'd say that certainly took longer to do than removing the core itself...

Re: Heater Core Cover Removal 92 Firebird

Right on, I appreciate the tip! I have some spare hose from when I made the bypass, so that will be totally doable

Re: Heater Core Cover Removal 92 Firebird

Yeah, after I unbolted that bracket, it was a straight shot to the top bolt, just needed a long extension. Core is now out though, gonna try to find where the leak (or leaks) are and see if I can...

Re: Heater Core Cover Removal 92 Firebird

Awesome, thanks!!! Just went out, turns out the extension I got at the hardware store was the perfect length to get that, just had to remove the box. Thanks a bunch!

Yep, still looking! Messaged a couple people but haven't heard back. How much would you want for the lens?

Re: 3rd Brake Light Lens for a 91-92 Firebird

Ahhhhh, I hadn't thought about that, but that makes sense. I'll see if I can pick up an LED bulb to prepare for a new lens :goodidea:

3rd Brake Light Lens for a 91-92 Firebird

I have a base model 92 with the high mount 3rd brake light that goes on the inside of the hatch glass. Not sure if the lens can come off, haven't screwed around with it, but the lens has a hole and I...

Re: 3.1L CCV Replacement?

Solid, thanks! Didn't think that it'd be under PCV, but I suppose I should have checked into that before posting  Thank you!!

Re: 3.1L CCV Replacement?

Maybe? Like I said, I'm new to working on cars, I'm not sure of what exactly to call it. It's the tube that goes from the passenger side valve cover to the air intake, just before the plenum. ...

3.1L CCV Replacement?

I think I may have finally found my oil leak, but I'm having trouble finding the parts to fix it. I'm no expert, but according to all the diagrams online this is a CCV, but I'm struggling to find any...

Re: Help Identifying Seat

Yeah, I thought it seemed weird that the SS seats were more comfortable. My car is sitting at about 184k miles, and the seats were still original. They have a lot less padding then this new seat. And...

Re: Help Identifying Seat

Ohhh, interesting! Yeah, it does look very similar to the 80s Monte Carlo seats. Wonder why someone chose to put that in a 4th gen camaro? Not that I'm gonna complain, it's alot more comfy than my...

Re: 3.1L Daily Turbo/ Intake Questions

5-6psi sounds like enough to me 😁 I'm hoping the intake is as simple as changing the gasket, that would be ideal. Last time I got my car inspected, my mechanic mentioned that he saw a crack in the...

3.1L Daily Turbo/ Intake Questions

Hey everyone! I've been on the forums since mid 2017, when I bought my very first car: a 3.1L '92 Firebird! I"m a 19 year old collge student, and I love this car to death. My biggest gripe is that...

Re: Turboing a 2.8l 1989 Camaro

Yo, sorry to resurrect an older thread, but I had some questions too! I have a car with the 3.1L instead of the 2.8L. From my understanding, they are the same engine, the 3.1L is just bored out a...
