Well, good news/bad news….I got the axle. Ring gear shows P/N 22521257, 41/11, so it is a 3.73…but it looks like the posi traction is toast.

Well, everything is back in place…BTW, UMI does NOT stock the Panhard rod bolts..the instructions say to reuse the old bolts.

I bought the UMI bolts when I bought the control arms…they’re NOT the exact same size as the originals. The originals were an 18mm head…the replacements are 3/4”.

Well…technically, the backspacing is a bit different than the original wheels for the thirdgen, to accommodate a 9” wheel…

But the 4th gen has a wider rear axle, so these are going to sit a good...

I’ve got some UMI tubular control arms for the rear of my ‘88 IROC.

The problem I’m encountering is the bolts are VERY stuck, apparently rusted inside the bushings.

Wow…I had no idea the machining would be that expensive!

I’ve had several people recommend the Remflex manifold gaskets…I’m going to check those out.

I have a strong suspicion that’s the case…I carefully cleaned the outlets on the heads before I installed the manifolds…didn’t notice anything amiss. The driver’s side is perfectly fine.

The problem was the pulsator…lasted less than a month before it failed. Eliminated the pulsator, and now pressures are normal again. The only positive I can report is I now have a nice adjustable...

No, OEM replacement motor mounts. Polyurethane mounts seem to cause about as many issues as they resolve. The only urethane I’ve installed in my ‘88 is a urethane torque arm bushing.

Well, I got lucky. Put a large wrench on the nut, to hold it still, and was able to remove the nut. The bolt is FREE.

So, that leads to a couple of questions....
