I have a line on a NOS GM gas tank. The seller says it was bought for an 84. Are these tanks the same regardless of the year/engine/fuel system 82-92?

I glued a thin 1/16th (.060) styrene plastic strip of plastic to the back of mine (over the destroyed cardboard) and then re-drilled the holes. I should have taken photos. It was easy.

It's a tip-over valve, so it's open as long as it's oriented in the upright position. I put one in too and have ad zero issues since. I do sometimes notice a bit of fuel smell from the rear drivers...

Also check the pilot bushing in the rear of the crankshaft. Make sure it's not deformed, crooked or otherwise in bad shape. It could possibly be the culprit if everything else looks to be in order.

Never trust the packaging. Put a meter on them before you solder. Make sure you are getting the expected ohm reading.
