You're right about the 3D printer, I got a used Form 2 from a dentist for a real bargain. I'll remove the logo though so that Camaro owners could use the bezel, too.

Those tire monitors are a good idea actually, I'll do some thinking about that. The thing I like about the Arduino is that it's instant on and it doesn't need to start up like a raspberry pi.

It looks nice in the car except for the viewing angle of the display which is moderately good...

I plan on wiring the Arduino to always hot to keep the GPS online and the display to hot in run...

Luckily I have a spare t-top console to work with. First I cut off those plastic welding spots to remove the inner strut section. This will go back afterwards to keep the stiffness and the mounting...

The gray wire from the emitter of the transistor will go to C2 pin 19 (interior lights dimming), this is the reduced voltage from the dimming wheel. Not surprisingly it also goes to pin E on the DIC...

The Hypertech chip is for the ECM and holds tuning data that controls the engine’s air/fuel ratio and spark advance and stuff. The EEPROM behind the odometer only contains an encrypted mileage data.

Actually at first I didn't notice anything. Only when I had to shut down the system for a few days I noticed how sluggish the car got. I think there is a difference - not much but noticeable.
