So I tried to tap on it while the car was running and there was no change, i reset the battery to see if that would help it flash any codes and still nothing and not even a code 12, definitely a bad...

Sounds good, I’ll report back how the tap test goes. Are the Ecms tested or known to work?

found the problem, the part where the pins on the back of the switch make contact had to be pinched tighter to make better contact and i totally over looked that. thanks for the help guys

Ok so i didn't start looking for the ground under the carpet but i was looking for a cut wire or corrosion on the pins where the switch goes and they are all clean. with my voltmeter i back probed...

I checked the circuit breaker by swapping it with a 30 amp fuse and still nothing.

Is the ground under the carpet?

Hey so my power seat just stopped working in my 1991 camaro z/28 and i did some testing and the orange wire gets 12 volts, and i get 12 volts to the back of the switch so i just replaced the seat...

Yeah its been replaced. It would have the clamp pictured above if it was oem, plus i was just under my 91 gta last night and had a good look at the exhaust.

I would guess that compnine is pretty accurate since they say built 3/8/90 and i have papers from when it left the dealer show room 3/31/90.

Just did more testing and get full 12 volt at brown / gray wire at radio harness, when i turn on the headlights the brow wire dips voltage and when i play with the dimmer going up it increase's...

Thanks for all the info and diagram. i also tested for continuity between the remote dimmer, witch is the only place i can run down the brown wire besides the rotating dimmer and from the radio...
