Re: My 1983 Z28 5.0 HO

Congrats on the Z28! I got my '83 HO many years ago. My brother in law used to own it and it sat in a gravel driveway for over 8 years uncovered and broken down. Look very much like yours, 5 speed,...

Yeah, I've seen that in the past on other engines. I used thread sealer on all the bolts and still end up with oil.

Re: What weight of oil ??

Yes I have. Twice. Both seemed good. No big deviation (>10%) between cylinders. Then I thought maybe it was sucking a little oil from the valve cover via the PCV valve and sending it to the throttle...

What weight of oil ??

Wondering if I should switch to a heavier weight oil. Engine seems to run fine, but will smoke a little when engine is fully warmed up. I suspect there is an underlying issue with an oil ring(s)...

Re: Quadrajet runs suddenly rich at idle? (HIGH IDLE)

I've never heard of needing to adjust the mixture screws out so far. I can see adjusting them out about 1-1/2 to two turns each, but never 7-8 turns. Probably going into the power circuit because of...

Re: 1991 Z28 - 6.0L/T56 High School Time Capsule

Yeah, it's a serious beast...you kinda punch it and aim it straight and hold on as far as the Hellcat goes. But I still have fun driving the Z28 too. It'll out handle the Hellcat on winding roads...
