That could be it, since the A/C compressor seems to cycle on/off every 2 seconds or so when A/C is turned on. Mine has been converted to R134 btw, that shouldn't matter at all right? Thanks!

The tapping didn't really go away that much, and it eventually got to the point where I was tightening it down too far and was about to make the motor die.

Yep, I used thread sealant on them. The leak doesn't look like it's coming out of the bolt holes though, it's coming out between head and block. But my engine is running fine though? At least so far...
