The main problem was tracked down , it was the nuetral safety switch. I sold the car though, due to money problems. You snooze you lose.

The car has been sold. The problem was fixed, not that it did not still need attention. It was in the nuetral safety switch like I thought towards the end.

Thanks guys, I have sold the car now due to lack of funds to properly take care of it. I did have it running through the help of wiring diagrams from chiltons and tripod on here.

Yeah it helps. Someone had the fan tied in to the fuse block and ignition , bypassing the circuit completely. I hate seeing garbage like that. The work space is very tight on these and hard to get to...

How can chiltons mess that up? Chiltons almost caused some big problems over wrong vin reading. Can they be trusted for any repair info? Should I take it back and buy a haynes manual?
