I have my coolant lines disconnected for years, completely cut the housing off and only have the part for the iac, it is only intended to stop throttle blade freezing in winter environments.

My experience with small blocks doing this can be a few different issues (usually carbed) but start with carbon deposits, use some carb cleaner clean out the valves and pistons. Also clean your...
