Quick update: i just removed speedo bullet and it drain some trans oil. Do I need to add oil to the tranny before I installed the new bullet? Can it be done thru the bullet hole?

Quick follow up: as I did the adjustment, I noticed my washer became disintegrated. So I removed the screw and the locking nut and inspected the needle. The needle seems to be sticky....

just so i am clear, when you say 2 full turn inward, you mean clockwise on the hex nut? Then after driving come back and slowly raise the float (counterclockwise).

Yep still pretty hot, so it will turn on with a lot effort. But should i be able to close the choke plate manually with minimal pressure?
