A stock 90-92 5.7 IROC made 202whp with the stock dual cat exhaust system. Run smog headers with dual cats and it will make 240whp and also 3in Magnaflow cat-back exhaust

Vortec Heads are not a good choice unless you do this. Look at the Dyno Header with the mod for the crossover tube. This will pass Cali Smog. A TPIS ZZ9 Cam was used....

To do it right, you have to swap the entire wire harness from the 91 to the 89. That means all the plug&play wires under the dash. Swap the fuel lines and change the fuel pump for TPI.

I’ve seen that same combo in the C4 Vettes but it ran 11.70@117mph. He probably did a lot of porting to the intake and runners. I think the HP should be 370whp and 430+wtq.

if you are doing from scratch, you will need the TPS sensor and the IAC for the idle and the housing for the IAC that goes under the Throttle Body. Holley will be the best bet for you if you want it...

wellright off the back. You will never see your combo hit 400hp. 270-300whp max. Instead of looking for a throttle body, you need 24lbs injectors and a tune.

Im still running the stock 7730 ECM with a tuned chip and making 440whp with my 388ci Miniram and 36lbs injectors. You will be fine working with the stock ECM.

Keep the SLP runners and the Accel Base. Sell the Vortec base. Port the runners and base with some good aftermarket heads and you are good to go.

Vortec is a waste. Go with the Accel Base and ported. SLP runners will be cool but port them too.

To get a little bit more free power, cut out the bottom of the air box before you install the filters. Even more than that cut 2 big holes in the plastic under the air box til you see the air scoops...

if you have the money, non Vortec is the way to go. What ever you do, don’t go TPI Vortec.
