If you have a bose system (speakers with amps) It will say bose on the radio. One way another either the amps or head unit need servicing. Can you post pictures.

Chances are that it is not the speakers. It is the Amps that go bad. They need a re-build. The amps are inside the speaker enclosure. I have rebuilt several for members on here. If you are interested...

Replacement CD drives are not cheap but can be found. Being a Yellow letter unit it's always worth fixing.

Are you running a stock delco radio with a small square power button? If so chances are the switch is bad. Very common problem on the delco radios.

If the speaker was shorted there is good possibility that one of the output IC's in the radio went...You will know by adjusting the balance and fade. One or more speakers will have a weak or quiet...

EQ Radios

I have a Camaro and Firebird EQ radio for sale. Both have been rebuilt and had an aux jack added. You can some deformation on the face plate of the Camaro radio, this will be hidden behind the trim...

You are wired up properly. The 2 prong grey plug is for the steering wheel pad.

The optical sensor that senses tape direction goes bad over time. This can be repaired.

There is an optical sensor under a wheel to detect direction of the cassette. Over time they become weak or wear out. You have to up the power to it. The best bet is to send the radio in for repair,...

It will fit right in. The mounting tabs are a bit different but you shouldn't have a problem. I have one with a aux jack wired in if you are interested.
