So this problem is solved, I just swapped the column and changed the wheel :-) wasn't too rough but I had to have a friend hold the wheel/column inside while I tapped the knuckle back onto the column.

Well I did mention it's a v6 2.8 to 305/tbi swap. I understand the pump has to be changed, I'm more concerned about the lines themselves.

In other words can I connect a 305/TBI 92 fuel pump to 88...

Fuel Lines - 88 v6 2.8 to 92 305 swap

I have searched and the answer still eludes me; I've shopped and from what I can tell the fuel lines for a 92 305/tbi front to back are different than 88 v6 2.8.

Is it possible to use the fuel...

Re: 1988 v6 2.8 MPFI/5spd to 1992 v8 305 TBI/auto - harness questions

The column electronics swap is to fix the issue of the dead spot when the column is tilted. Other than that, no I don't plan on changing the whole thing.

Re: 1988 v6 2.8 MPFI/5spd to 1992 v8 305 TBI/auto - harness questions

So, if I understand you correctly - if I do a VATS bypass, I won't even need to change the steering electronics? (ignition and key cylinder)

I am still considering swapping those electronics and...

Thank you for your information. I did read the vats article, this is my first time and I didn't really 'get it'.

So what I do get from your reply, this isn't a simple plug and play.
Would it be...

That's a nifty idea, but working with electronics in the past, there's too much room for failure. I prefer to K.I.S.S. therefore, using a blockoff plate manually put in place, or stuff a sponge in...

what is the right trans for this engine?

Ok, I am doing an engine swap soon. I am unsure which it is yet, it will be one of the following:

350 (to 355): trans/gears?
383: trans/gears?
400 (to 406): trans/gears?

I have a v6/t-5...
