Yes, since you blocked the IAC port, the TB plates weren't open enough to allow the engine to idle. Every time we start a TPI, the IAC starts closed and then pulses (counts) on its way to more open...

I had to buy the spring from an aftermarket place and install it myself. I did not look for a new hose with spring - yet. It was a bit of a PITA to get the spring in and on our cars the lower hose...

Put in a new Walker CalCat which didn't help.

I was starting to isolate which end of the car. Engine and trans are dependent on gear/rpm. Drivershaft, axle, etc...

No worries! I think the BBK has a single large spring. Not sure though, I have not disassembled one.
