Call me ignorant, but...

Didn't we have a quick link to the Forum Rules at one time? I must be blind as a drunken bat, but I can't locate it.

There are a few members who could benefit by a review of the rules.

Never mind... I logged out, then went through the LOGIN pages as a new member to get the screen.

If any of you need the text of the rules (for whatever reason) you can cut and paste this as necessary:

There it is, just in case.

C'mon, Ed. We both know that "smarter" and "moderator" should never be used together in the same sentence.

And for whoever closed the "87 IROC Stalling" thread, thanks. It was getting on the long side and way off topic. I tried to pull it back together, and center it back on a technical discussion, but it was probably too far gone. That's why I wanted the Forum Rules in the first place.

Thanks for posting that Vader because I have a very important question concerning this topic.

That section is basically what's described as "flaming" right? So using that criteria, would I be flaming or sound threatening, or hateful if I wrote this.......

Based on what you've said, you have no idea how to properly .... (tune a carb, or set timing, or building transmissions, design a suspension, etc, etc)
Because I posted something like this in response to a moderator, he feels he has the right to delete MY ENTIRE POST!!!

Moderators have the right to delete something that is argumentative with what they've said, even though it's not hateful nor threatening?

I can see if I told him to stick it where the sun don't shine, or to go play in traffic, but to disagree with what he's said gives him the right to delete my post???

Sorry, but IMO, that's not right!! This is not a communist website, is it? We can only write what "THEY" want us to write? If we debate anything with someone who has "moderator" as their title, that gives them the right to delete it?

WTF????

Moderators need to learn to seperate their personal emotions from what "needs" to be done.

free speach doesn't apply here, right or wrong a moderator can pretty much do whatever he or she wants for any reason. if you feel you've been treated unfairly write the mod or an admin and see if your problem can be resolved.

It seems like we give up quite a few rights to free speech of our own when we become a moderator...

Deleting an entire post is a good way to cut any past or potential flamefest anyway.

Re-read that very last sentence in the agreement. Key word: any.

And the penalties are what for the violators?.
And if they in their signature refer to a site that sells their products isn't that included?.

Vader, where is the second part of this written on the site? I can't seem to locate the 'Agree' or 'Objectional Message' clauses anywhere on the site. Where are they?
