Twin Turbo 400 buildup begins!

I've finally ordered some parts! The block is a Dart Little M with a 4.125 bore, and splayed steel 4 bolt caps. Thanks for the heads up comparing the bowtie block with this one. It should be nice! The heads I ordered are the AFR 210 Race Readies, with 2.08 intake and 1.60 exhaust. Gotta have the Titanium retainers, just so I can say the Z28tt has some titanium It's time to find a 3.75" forged crank, some 6" rods, and a set of 15-22cc inverse dish, low compression height forged pistons. I guess hell will finally freeze over when the Z28tt is running again

The old motor was, well, tired. It would spit out about a mity-vac container's worth out oil out of the breathers for every 30 minute road race session. I haven't torn it apart yet, but I'm pretty sure the rings are pretty shot, if there are ring-lands left It did pretty well for a stock L98, and lasted for 2 years of punishment at 5 psi non-intercooled and 7psi intercooled. That little 'ole motor pushed the Z28tt to a 12.8@114 with the stock heads and cam. <sniff sniff!>

What compression ratio are you building the 400 for?

I'll be right around 8.5:1. It's low enough for decent boost and less detonation, but high enough that low rpm part throttle cruising mileage won't suffer.
