Has been sitting for 10+ years

So I've recently have revived a 85 z28 from a family member it has been sitting for over 10 years and ran before it went into storage. I want to get this car up and going and want to know what I should do.. (besides fluids and battery) also want to know what I could do for a decent power increase for the 305 down the road. I have a turbocharger intercooler,piping.ect. for a small turbo setup dont want to blow the motor but want to get a decent increase In power for a little fun . Also wondering what would decent headers and exhaust run me?

Car: 92 RS Camaro
Engine: 3.1L V6
Transmission: Manual 5 speed
Re: Has been sitting for 10+ years

I would go ahead change fuel filter, plugs, wires, roter and cap for distributor, go over brakes may have to do a fuel pump mine clogged after sitting ,and mine sat for about 5 I would do that and then go from there afterward.

Car: 1987 Camaro Z-28
Engine: 305 cu. in.
Transmission: Automatic
Re: Has been sitting for 10+ years

305 was never really intended for producing much power, But I'd say you should do want Jsapp38 said and run the car for a bit sorta like get a feel for it. Then add small bolt ons like headers, exhaust, Etc...

Cuz you really never know if the engine is worth putting money in if its gonna need a overhaul or something major like that...

In today's world the guess work is over. No more David Vizard, no more articles with carefully kept secrets, just ask yourself how fast you want to go, do the calculations in terms of how much air, fuel and spark will get you there, and get it done. Here; starting off with a 200 horsepower engine, you say you want a decent power increase, so what is decent in your eyes with a baseline of 200 horsepower? What are you looking to accomplish? Cast parts will hold up to at least 400 horsepower which is still very decent in today's world, but I wouldn't push them anymore than that if you want them to last. Fifteen pounds of boost pressure from your small turbo setup will give you that number starting with that baseline. It's not a matter of a turbo being too small for an engine's size, it's the matter of a turbo being too small for the amount of horsepower the engine is already making naturally aspirated. Your lucky if your engine is even making 200 horsepower, so install your turbo, set boost pressure to 12-psi, dial in your fueling, keep your air temps cool, keep your timing conservative, then go out and enjoy your car...
