When i used steel hood struts on this car it would lift hood corners and bend/warp it. Extreme heat kinda molded it like that. Then i took the struts off and drove around. Heat softened hood again and it molded back into shape lol. Its crazy
I'd like to get hood painted but i am nervous the paint wouldnt last, it gets hot
Extractors will be there to eliminate heat when sitting. Hopefully it helps. It doesnt seem to go over 235-240 deg when sitting for very long time in warm weather. Most of time while moving its 205-210 on hot days. Cold days it wont get warm at all. It will stay 170-180. I have no t stat lol

I was thinking of something like that if the fan can withstand the heat. Everything remotely close to that header and downpipe has not survived without heavy heat shielding. After a full pull the headers are orange hot glowing haha. Paint on the strut tower has bubbled. Wire looms along the fender have completely melted. Plastic shock tower caps melted

That's crazy it gets that hot under the hood! Melted strut tower caps? Wow!
I haven't taken any under hood temp readings while driving but mine stays amazingly cool. My hood is fiberglass too and I have always had some heat reflective mat on the underside above the turbo and downpipe but I'm thinking of just removing it since the adhesive never holds that well. Every time I stop and open the hood the underside is no warmer than if it was a completely stock car.
IIRC you have everything heat wrapped? Just the fact that you are running twins which have a lot more hot side surface area mixed with the fact you are making over twice the HP, that might be a pretty big factor!
I ceramic coated my entire hot side this year and I've noticed a big difference in radiant heat coming off of everything.

I have wrap and heat shields everywhere lol.
I tell you what, i'll take a pic of my wideband controller box that got exposed to the heat. Can see where the plastic turned liquid and rolled down the corner like wax on a candle lol. Still works

That's crazy about the wideband too. Where is the controller mounted? Which tires are those that you are running? And what type were the Mickey Thompsons? I'm pretty amazed anything hooks at 25 psi from a roll on the street. Are we talking even in first gear?

These are et streets 295/55/15. My other street tires are et streets 305/35/19. Similar if not same compound. Just dont work as well lol
No first gear. First can hold maybe 10-12psi occasionally, but second has held 22-23 psi from a 50 ish roll. Its nuts. Car is a monster once spooled

Re: 3rd gear pull at 1000whp
Do you run your fans off of temp relays or just have them wired to run full blast when switched on? Can you PM me some additional info on your oil cooler? Possibly some pics? Thanks!

Re: 3rd gear pull at 1000whp
No idea on oil temp but i noticed oil pressure stayed higher longer, so its taking some heat out.
Coolant temps didnt seem to matter once it got to operating range. Always had 2 fans running on warm days. I may be seeing 5-10 deg less than when i ran without oil cooler but thats just a guess
Oil cooler is small tho, something like an 8x8?
