Re: whats the life on an ebay turbo
dont buy an ebay turbo kit,i.e one that comes with everything
most of the tsuff is junk and u can buy the pieces seperatly for less
oil lines, rs style bovs , oil coolers and turbo timers are all crap
the piping kits and intercoolers are fine so are the reinforced couplers and t bolt clamps
some of the turbos u need to stay away from but for the most part
the t3/t4 hybrids are great turbos ive had these last over 6 years on a dialy driver
the the gt45 turbo has a great reputation
the gt35 turbos are so so , dont buy one if it has oil and water cooling , the plain old oil cooled ones are fine
the majority of the turbos labeled t61 and t70's are typically no more then the t3/t4 hybrids the chances of it actually being a t61 or t70 spec turbo is very slim
most of the wastegates are ok
the rfl bov is the best out of all of them
if u tell me what u plan on putting the stuff on i can give u a better odea of the decent stuff to buy

Re: whats the life on an ebay turbo
so basically u just want the turbos wastegates and intercooler then
for turbos pick up a pair of the 118$ ebay t3/t4 turbos
a pair of ebay tial style 38mm wastegates about 50 bucks each
a single rfl style bov about 40 bucks
and whatever intercooler best fits were u have room to mount it
do not buy ebay oil line kits they are garbage and will leak
instead buy fragolo pushlock fittings and parker pushloc hose off ebay
i can get u links if needed

Re: whats the life on an ebay turbo
i could honestly care less about most of the stuff in the kits, i was mainly just looking for the turbo, intercooler, bov and that kinda stuff. and links would be realy tight

Re: whats the life on an ebay turbo
Just wanted to add Ive put well over 1k miles on my $118 Ebay turbo now and it works good for me, I do plan to get a really nice one in time. But a ebay turbo will work well and believe me Ive beaten the living crap out of mine and it likes it.

to the original poster either the turbos i linked or the ones fast eddi linked are good ones
the only difference is the one fasteddi linked has a lil larger compresor wheel so they will support more power and should be a lilmore efficiant on the 4.3
i am using 2 of those exact turbos on my twin turbo iroc with a 355
