paxton supercharged l98 build worth it??
ok so a little more info here. i have a 1987 trans am gta l98 motor with a paxton sn93 supercharger on it. what i need to know is it going to be worth putting heads intake cam injectors ect.. plus a tune with that blower?? it runs fine right now makes about 5 lbs of boost but the blower could use a rebuild.(500) so what are you guys thinking?? just go turbo or stay with the blower??
im looking to make in the 550 range if possible with that blower but i just dont know lol...
just another thought i met a guy at summit the other who had a very similar setup in his irok. stock l98 bottom end with the trick flow aluminum heads slp blower cam and holley stealth ram, he said that the sn93 would on make 2 lbs of boost because the motor flowed so well, that was even with the underdrive pulleys and the modded impeller?? is that true??
let me know what ya think!!!!!

A few points:
1. Of course heads/cam/ injectors/tune is going to help. There will almost never be a situation where it doesn't. You asked one of the most basic questions of hotrodding and making horsepower. Your question would be like asking do slicks make a car hook better.
2. Your not going to get much help with that attitude. You have to allow some time for people to respond. Some times its almost instant, other times you have to wait.
3. If you think your blower needs a rebuild, go for it. No sense in upgrading everything else only to be handicapped by a less than optimal part.

Edit: Technically, you can in fact install a wastegate on the cold side (which of course is the only side a supercharger has), then run the highest rated pulley available, while adjusting the wastegate to keep desired boost pressure in check. It has been done before, but kind of noisy going that route, and I wouldn't recommend it. Good luck....
