First performance upgrade since 1990 :)

Sill need to run the fuel line from the pump and do the wiring plus get a MSD digital window switch and wideband.....also thinking about upgrading to a MSD 6-AL2 to take advantage of the custom curve with stepped boost timing control and the fact it has a sensing line for the NOS system activation for even additional timing control when the system is armed.

Yes, yes the prices did ...really really going to hurt on the Power Tour this year.

I dont know about a progressive timer yet....figured I was going to see how hard the hit was during testing then make that decision. I have never had any experiance with nitrous before, I have been thinking about doing this for over 20yrs but never pulled trigger til now and am finding there is not a lot of info on using it with a roots blower out there!

The kit came with 100-500 jets but I am going to get the lowest set NX has (30 I think so that would make it 60) to do the inital testing, but I will also need to find out from NX what fuel pressure I will need to run with those since they are not on the chart they sent with the system.

The other thing I ran into was I had to modify the bottoms of my Carter Competiton Series carbs.....the plates were made for holleys and my Carters had some casting pockets that were exposed using the plates so I had to fill them and do a little machining so I didnt have any vacuum leaks.

How have the Carter carbs been w/boost in terms of the weighted secondary door? I know that Carter made a kit once upon a time that included varying weighted air door flaps (some heavier, some lighter, etc) to help dial in the secondaries, but it was discontinued a long time ago. How are they under boost?

I got those when I had the 144 on it back in 86 (I was running a dual carb adapter on the 144) and they have been great....I never have seen a weighted kit for them but that was long ago lol....

Re: First performance upgrade since 1990 :)

No the Rear is sitting under the car, but not attached. I ordered a stainless brake line kit from EBmiller that has not showed up. I am debating if I should install without it.

Then I got the bright idea to change my fuel lines over to Teflon. So I did that today. That is pretty sweet! I routed them through the trans tunnel and you cannot see them now. It cleaned it up a bit and it has been holding pressure for the last 3 hours!

I also decided on a better cutout. I can't leave well enough alone.

Sounds dreamy and Now my car can be all the way quiet again.

I may hoist the rear in tommorow.
