roots blower questions

ok so i have my mind set on getting a blower to put on top of my motor after i rebuild it...and yes im rebuilding it for a blower...main question and sorta a favor is guys out there running say the 142-144 and 177 could u guys measure from your bottom of the intake to the top of your air cleaner and tell me what kind of air cleaner like thickness and car you are running...i have a jongbloed hood...curious to know if it will fit without cutting a hole on top of the hood...i think it might fit just might have to rig up a custom aircleaner inside the hood and find a way for the tubbing to connect and disconnect as your raise and lower the hood...but if a regular drop style aircleaner will work that be awesome...so if you guys could messure from where your intake meets the block to the top of your air cleaner and give me the details of what carb size aircleaner and kind it is be great...that way i can go messure it and find out if it will fit...also curious did you guys stick with your stock fuel lines or switch them out for bigger ones??? would be great to know what kind of power numbers you guys are putting out... anyways i forgot to mention its a gen 1 350 block...from gm goodrench...planning on either going with a 355 or 383 with the blower on it...just trying to make a fun street car...also was curious how loud is the whine...i want the whine lol...i only drive the car when its nice out...so im not worried about it bugging me...now right now i do have the stock rear axle with no posi and believe me i am going to see to that first before rebuilding the motor...i alrdy have a tremec tko 600 trans only has about 5000 miles on it...so not to worried about that...mainly i need to get a stronger rear axle and some bigger meats with posi...i know ill still be breaking them loose but thats fine with me...lol...anyways id appriciate your guys help and opinions and if you have questions to ask me fire away...

thx
Joe

Re: roots blower questions

Yeah, even the littlest blowers require a 4" cowl hood to run any reasonable sized air cleaner in a 3rd gen F-body. 177 sits the carb nearly 2" higher than that which means a 6" cowl hood is likely going to be required.
