Comp Cam NR276HR

Just wondering if anyone is using this cam with a D1SC. Cam spec is 224/236 at 113 lobe separation. Valve lift is .502 and .520 according to the cam card.

The rest of the motor is a 355 with forged internals at 8.8:1 compression with AFR 195 Eliminator heads and a HSR. The D1SC will be cog driven at 15lbs boost. And I'll be using a FAST XFI for engine management.

If anyone is using this cam or a similar grind, I'd be interested in hearing opinions on it.

my cam is alot more aggressive, but with that lob seperation and the split pattern you should be in good shape.

you're a brave man getting a cog drive setup to work........i had to do an awful lot of fabrication to get an alternator and powersteering pump running off the cog setup.

do you have the blower yet? the pulley only has a single v groove on the back, and that normally runs the powersteering pump, you could ditch it and use it for an alternator i suppose.

mine runs a small PS pump with a remote reservoir under the blower bracket, and i used a 2-piece alternator bracket (low mount Pass side) to mount the alternator.......and i used a blower hub 6 bolt style pulley to make my own crank pulley for the alternator, it fits inside the crank hub and bolts to that pulley......heres a link to some pics back when i did it.

its a bear man......alot of work to make these things work if you want to drive it on the road......mine is an f1-r but the cog drive should be the same

Actually, I'm transplanting the motor between cars so the setup was running fine with the cog drive before the car was wrecked. The standard serpentine belt runs all the accessories except the D1SC.

I was just curious about the cam choice since I'll have the motor out and it makes for a good time to swap cams if better options exist that can still get through emissions.

how did you get a serp drive on the cog? i know they only make one style of crank cog

The serpentine belt is a separate set of pulleys from the cog drive running the SC. The mounting bracket for the SC puts it in front of the serpentine accessories so it doesn't interfere with the belt for them (except to put a new one on when it needs replaced.) The only thing powered by the cog belt is the SC. I end up with 3 items mounted to the front of the crank. A balancer, the serpentine pulley, and the cog pulley. All of the parts for the SC setup came from ATI and ASSC Racing. Clearance to the radiator is tight but not close enough to be worried about the parts hitting.

oh ok....ati doesnt make a blower bracket for the f1 that will do that, its right against the front of the motor.......my belt also only runs the blower, its an electric water pump

i dont know if assc does or not, i looked at some of their stuff but it was last year, and at the time they didnt have anything that could help me.
