LS-1 twin turbo goes 350 mph!!
This is a misleading subject but you'll like it anyway.. these guys are building a (soon to be in) production autogyro that will cruise at 350 mph... powered by none other than our favorite brand - Chevrolet! A twin turbo LS-1 to be specific! Too cool...

I wonder how long the terrain would allow u to cruise at that speed

It says it uses 2 turbos in series.. would that be where one turbo blows into the intake of another turbo, and then to the intake of the engine?
Wouldn't that be kinda pointless? Just curious..

yes it is... and beleive it or not it is a pretty good set up. This is how the last RX7 turbo motors were (if I remember correctly). Sence a turbo works off of the speed of the air feeding it the first turbo would force the second turbo to spin faster because it was forcing the air into it. Then because the second turbo is spinning fster you can get more boost at a lower RPM then before. Also the higher the RPM the more the boost. Nothing but good....lol.

Also, keep in mind that this thing can cruise at 45,000 feet! At the altitude you need both turbos just to produce 300 horsepower!! But at 25,000 feet it can produce 600 so on the ground it must be theoretically capable of much more..

In a single stage T/C setup the limit is 60 PSI of boost depending on atmospheric conditions, but in multi staging you can run up much higher, ie 250 PSI of boost.
Also, they can recover all the more energy from the exhuast heat that way
