Z28tt Intercooler Pics!!!

Hey guys,
I finally got off my *** and finished fabricating the intercooler. All that is left is the TB to 3" pipe connection on the cold side and then the hot side plumbing. I can't wait to get back on the road

Nice!

Hey, I was considering a setup similar to your tubular crash bar.. I took out my original crash bar for weight reduction etc.. Before I go through the trouble of fabricating my own, did you buy that somewhere?

Steve,
I fabricated the crash-bar (I like that better than bumper - thanks!) on my own. I've been trying to be diligent about updating the Z28tt page at http://www.skulte.com/turbo.html and there is a quick update on how I fabbed the bar. I'd like to put together a comprehensive How-to article on fabricating an intercooler system, and will have details there. In the meantime, feel free to ask anything The bar weighed close to stock, and I'd use heavy gauge Al tubing if you want to save serious weight. Overall, it (along with stock) probably doesn't weigh more than 30 lbs). Does anyone know where to get surplus AN hardware (airframe nuts, bolts, etc...)?

Andris,

The car is looking great man. I to was gona do a TT set up like yours. I have been following up at your site step by step. You have taken that car to wonders. Looks great. I am gona go with a D1SC on a420 instead of TT's. less down time in the long run.

Hood latch, yeah... I'm still on the fence whether I want to adapt the cherokee hood latches on the hood corners or to go 1/4 turn fasteners for the hood pins. I'd like to keep a clean smooth look, and would rather not have huge pins sticking out. Any of y'all have ideas?

Dzus flush mount!

Im not sure. Im going to get a harwood lift off and probably use those locking pins when I get it.

Ive seen them in action and I like them.

well, the cleanest and safest thing you could do is somehow use body clip fasteners to hold the hood down. you could paint over them and would be less noticeable, but you need like 3 per side at least.just a thought

Damn man, that car iz sweet! I been checking out your page for a long time now, and I wish I knew how to do **** like this. I don't know crap about motors, but I really want to go with a 383 twin turbo setup in my z28. Once I decide what to put the 305 in, cause that's the motor that really got me into camaros.
