I saw pics of the motor on the stand, cant seem to find them any more, but yes they appeared to be stock motor mounts, and it went just as if you had a set of replacement 3rd gen headers but then they sorta too a turn after the oil pan and would go between the block, motor mount, and K member, forwards and into the merge.

After the collector on the passenger side, the exit goes behind the motor mount and over the aftermarket www.pa-racing.net tubular k-member.....it then turns and goes under the front of the oil pan very similar to how guido's is
anything else?

Hum... In that case I think that I've got an archive of pictures of his setup (I've been archiving almost every interesting pic that I've seen). I don't remember where I got them, but from appearances it's the same turbo, location and the headers match the description, even same coatings... just the valve covers are different (I beleve that the pic that I attached is one of exhaust routing that has been posted on a board so it's not giving anything away, but I've got a bunch more...).
Too bad, looks like the setup would only work on something with a smaller crossmember, I know that with the stock K-member there is no room to run the pipes like that with the stock K-member (and I've been wondering how the engine that I've had pictures of was shoehorned in). BTW, for anyone thinking of doing something similar with the stock k-memeber the exhaust routing isn't the only problem, block huggers will not fit either, even with the collectors cut off.
I'm guessing that he's running solid motor mounts (I can't imagine rubber or poly would live with the exhaust wrapped around them).
Otherwize it looks like he's running a TEC II and some other fairly obvious stuff. I love the look.

It is a very nice setup considering his creative use of a block hugger. As far as fuel managment goes I would use a 1227749 ECM from a GMC Syclone. Then you could get electronic wastegates and control them with the ECM. A little tuning and you would have one bad machine.

Hmm...well i think you could get it work if you took some time to figure it out
I mean the NMRA, NSCA use wastegates on the PRESSURE side and use hobbs switches to open/close them and use them as boost controllers
so it *may* be able to work

Twin turbos are awsome! I heard you guys talk about junk yard turbos but I have no idea what would be good for my car. (89 350TBI Camaro) I want to put twin turbo on to get some good gains in HP but I am clueless on how to do it. How much should junk yard turbos run? Once I have the turbos how much would it cost to get them up and running with out me haveing any other parts? Just thought I'd shoot that out there. Hopefully I will get a great answear!

hey,fair enough but posts keep getting put up here about somebody needs to make manifolds and "now that banks is gettting back into turbo R & D work"...it is already done and avail for sale for those of us who have the $$ and want the banks products

the banks site is showing what those at PRI, SEMA, and a few of the dealers have seen. That even through all of my harping after years and years of telling us its coming out this year, it appears they have restarted production of the same kit they made for use years ago there is another thread where I am posting a letter from a dealer showing his (unadvertisable price)

What might help is using BB motor mounts. Since essentially they are the same pattern as even the same mounts made 20years later we could use them. The BB motor mounts posistion the engine 1-1.25 inches towards the drivers side giving clearance on the passenger side. I personally would rather have a single turbo setup. By using a log type manifold on the drivers side(generates heat and expansion of gases) and running in through a y-pipe similar to the 3.8 turbo to another log manifold or even a 4 to 1 would likely give enough room for a dp on the passenger side.
Log manifolds work! Any of you that do not think so have never experienced a 3.8 turbo car. Plenty are in the 10's with the crappy crackable mild steel pieces the factory used.
Tubular K-members are also fairly cheap(under$400), By using the K member you can posistion the tubing differently. You can then opt to use your stock a-arms or go with the tubular ones(it accepts both). 1 less wastegate, 1 less turbo, 1 less headache = savings on the initial cost of a 3rd gen turbo project and would more than makeup the cost of a $400 k-member if needed.

Sounds like just the ticket to get a 4" down pipe through the passenger side without overheating things like the starter…

If the idea is to make more room under the car wouldn't a dry sump system get rid of the oil pan and generate all of that space?
Did anyone get headers from JGStrubo? Is he as goos as he says he is? I saw that BWR manifold, but that was after the piece was casted.

If I recall the mounts were used in the early f body's cause the bigger engine caused interference. Now that I think of it, it might be the other way around. I think it may posistion it slightly towards the pass. side due to the steering arm interference with the exhaust.

Now that I would believe. I was under the impression that most normal big block mounts just position them differently height wise, causing other clearance issues.
for that matter, if you're going this far, make your own, it wouldn't be as hard as the plumbing involved in doing the turbo setup
