Going to be working on ANOTHER turbo project over the winter w/in

My friend who owns a 93 Z28 wanted a turbo. He ran across a deal on an 85 GN motor and after figuring out that it wasnt a very good idea to do an 85 swap in gave up. BUt he had been bit by the bug. A week later his LT1 was sold and we delivered it to the new owner yesterday.

He has cash in hand and a dangerous plan of attacking a turbo buick swap into the 93 over the winter. Guess who gets to build headers for it?

Anyway, Im pretty excited about it. He had talked about doing a turbo on his LT1 and I had no idea how we were going to do it with so little space but now that he will have 2 less cylinders, should be a snap.

He wants mid to low 11's on this motor too.

Stay tuned!

Right on. Sounds like fun. I'll be attempting my first ever turbo project this winter also. I just picked up 2 of these turbos.

I send the money tomorrow. Can't wait to get them. I will be doing this on a carbed motor. Hopefully I'll be getting a Holley 650 4150 style carb also. Can't wait.

Guido,
This isn't going to slow down the production of my turbo headers is it? I was hoping you would have them done by now but...No pressure This does sound like it is becoming a trend with you.
Guess you are a true turbo guru :hail: :hail: :hail:

Thanks frosty! Any good deals you see give us a shout.

He wants to add some performance stuff to it before we drop it in. He found a complete setup in New York for $1900 but he also found a complete setup for $2000 an hour away which we are going to look at tomorrow night. Only thing is that it has been sitting for 3 years. But it has 70k miles on it.

He will at least go through the shortblock if he gets it.

What do you guys plan on using for heads? Why'd you decide on the 53 versus a 60 series turbo?
