What to do/buy next?? strip/street car

car is a 91 camaro. more strip than street but i do drive to work sometimes and to cars and coffees.
my ideas for what to do next are ford 9" (31 spline, truetrac, 3.91 ratio), strange rear disk brake kit for the 9", and/or a holley sniper EFI kit. anything i missed? your recommendations? here is what i have done so far....

Comp cams xe-274 hydraulic flat tappet cam (.490 lift, 230/236 duration at .05) - 1.5 ratio full roller rockers - Holley 650 vac sec carb (also have a speed demon 650 vac sec)

Hei distributor with DUI 50K volt coil - Summit oil pan with windage try and scraper (6 qt)

SUSPENSION / CHASSIS

Lakewood 70/30 front struts - S10 manual steering - Jegs bolt in subframe connectors - Umi tunnel mounted torque arm/crossmember - Summit 3-way adjustable rear shocks

Founders lower rear control arm relocation brackets - Founders rear tubular non-adjustable control arms - Founders panhard bar

DRIVETRAIN

yank ss3600 torque converter - corvette 2nd gear servo - 3” aluminum driveshaft - "perfect launch” girdled 10 bolt cover - 3.73 gears - Limited slip diff - Stock 16” wheels with 225/55/16 front and 255/50/16 rear

EXHAUST

Hedman longtubes (1 5/8 primary, 3” collector) - hedman S x-tensions 2.5” exit - X pipe - Flowmaster super 44’s

X2 ! a 150 shot will impress you. and give you a real HP increase and cost less than an aftermarket EFI.. you already have good carb.

I think you can optimize what you already have without spending a lot, and keep the money aside for when the axle quits. What does this car 60ft at the track? Time slip in sig shows 12 sec mph - street tires?

priced out a kit with the required parts. it totaled up to around 822. (summit prices) this is for a wet kit (50-200 hp). will i have to change anything engine wise to run nitrous?

what would you recommend to optimize? as far as the 60' time, it was slow compared to what it could have been. i was being very conservative on the starts. was getting 2.3's. but that was easying into it. didn;t go WOT till right around the 60'. was afraid to break the rear i guess. yeah street tires. 255/50/16 BFG sport comp 2's

Re: What to do/buy next?? strip/street car

ok make that drag radials as first mod. on motor you should be at least 1.8 or quicker to the 60'. that would be a solid .6-.7 or more improvement in et which is a pretty sizeable gain. you could get it done on the same size 255/50/16 mt/hoosier/m&h drag radial.
you could get a nos cheater plate or something similar. in addition to what comes in that kit, you need a bottle heater and you need gauges for nitrous pressure and fuel pressure. generally, you can put a 100 shot on most anything and be fine. 150 would probably be fine on your car too, just pull appropriate timing and keep good fuel in it. if you get 60's down to the 1.6-7 range on motor, put the nitrous on a delay to keep the rear alive.

Re: What to do/buy next?? strip/street car

Drag radials, like Diggler said, along with a driveshaft safety loop. I would also recommend an AEM wideband o2 to really dial the carb in, and curving the distributor. This is even more important if you are thinking about nitrous.

Haven't run nitrous personally, but have heard going to a colder heat range plug is also a good idea. Does your engine have forged pistons? Dual plane intakes don't have very even fuel distribution among cylinders. Forged pistons are more forgiving to problems.

Save up for a 12 bolt or 9" rear end.
It is not a matter of how the OEM 10 bolt will fail, it is a matter of when it will fail.
