Autocross Parts and Tips?
I have a 1986 Camaro Sport Coupe with the 2.8 but want to eventually swap it out with an Aluminum 5.3 when the time comes. What are the most important things with these cars to focus on to build a good performer? I'm already looking at Federal 595rsr's on my 2001 Z06 wheels for it. Its still on its factory wheels as of now till funds are allocated and I have made a decision. I've also been looking at SFC's, Weight Jacks, Koni Yellows, Wonder Bars, and 4th gen Rear ends. What brand is the best for the wonder bars and the SFC's?

While I do not have much experience in autocross, don't overlook upgrading your brakes. That is possibly the most important aspect, along with safety.
You sound like you are on the right track. Pair a 4th gen rear to eliminate spacers on the back, and get disc brakes. You can add LS1 Front Brakes as well for cheap. Contrary to popular belief, you can still have fun with the 2.8l. Learn the car and build around it.

UMI SFCs tuck up really well and are good quality for a decent price. They are rectangular so they can be added on to easily, Wonder bar brand doesn't matter as long the welds are good.

Tires are the easiest starting point and make big difference. Then brakes, then everything else. But most importantly get on the track as soon as possible. You haven't said what experience/skill level is.

Check out my build. My car will be strictly a weekend warrior and an autocross car.

I personally would go with UMI suspension parts. I know these guys personally and they build awesome parts. Biggest thing is better brakes and tires. I have just purchased Federal 595ss tires. They say for track use a 200 treadwear tire is best but I couldn't justify $600-$800 in tires. The Federal's are close enough for me at a 240 treadwear..The factory brakes on these cars leave a lot to be desired. I upgraded to PBR rear disc brakes and am in the process of the LS1 front upgrade. Power isn't everything get the car handling and then do the engine upgrade. Wonderbar is a must to keep the frame from cracking at the steering box.

Keep the wheels and tires square (same size on all four) or else you will induce understeer. Autocross is very unforgiving of a push; it demands a loose setup. Also there is no such thing as too large of a front swaybar on a 3rd gen.
