5 point Roll bar possible?
I've been looking to put a roll bar into my Camaro, and have been unable to find anywhere that builds a nice 4 point roll bar, or a 5 point with a swing out for the door bar. I am just trying to be able to go quicker than 11.49, not looking for this car to enter the 9's so anything more than a 5 point will be over kill. I have looked at s&w and other places people recommend, however I have been unable to find anything that is competition legal and not a roll cage.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks guys.

Re: 5 point Roll bar possible?
Okay, I never saw the 6 point by s&w. I saw they are popular for thirdgens but I was only able to find their 8 and 10 point cages. That will work then! Also, are their door bars welded to the 4 point already?

Re: 5 point Roll bar possible?
To run quicker than 11.49, you need a minimum of a 5 point roll bar. A 4 point is a street bar and not legal for competition below 11.49. Most people who install a basic roll bar, install a 6 point since it provides a bit more protection.
To make getting in and out of the car easier, install swing out bars. If installed properly, it won't affect your ET limit and a 6 point bar, even with swing outs, is good to 10.0.
S&W is probably the best place to source out a roll bar.
FYI. A basic roll bar (6 or 8 point) is entirely made from 1-3/4" tubing. Although minimum spec is 0.118" wall thickness, it's normally sold in either 0.134" ERW or 0.120 DOM mild steel. You don't need CM tubing. Very inexpensive kits use tubing that's less than 0.118" wall thickness and can fail a tech inspection if someone ever decides to test it. It's unlikely a basic 6 point roll bar will ever be tested since it doesn't require a chassis cert but it's your life it's protecting.
When making a full cage, the largest tubing used is only 1-5/8" but you also have a lot more tubing in the car in various sizes.
S&W catalog page for roll bars. You need to contact them to order one specifically for your car. The only difference between a 6 and 8 point roll bar is the diagonal tubes under the main hoop that go down to the driveshaft tunnel. You don't have to install them if you don't want to.
