Car: 1989 Iroc Z L98
Gains swapping from 2.73 gears
What kind of ET gains have you guys seen (specifically with a L98 but any car is good) swapping from 2.73 gears to say 3.42 or 3.73 gears?

I went about 2 tenths and 2-3 mph quicker with both 3.27 and 3.42's over 2.73's with a bolt on L98 if i remember right. Didnt see a lot from 3.27 to 3.42. Car really didnt need alot of gear to work. Seat of the pants it felt alot stronger but didnt quite show as much at track as i thought
Some cars respond well to gear some dont. My bolt on ls1 only gained a tenth from 2.73 to 3.73. Only 0.05 on 60 ft and about 0.08 on top end i think. Really disappointed. Lost 4-5 mpg highway too, at 75 mph. Then again it wasnt tuned 100% for mileage
