The '57 (396, 4000 stall, 3800 lbs, 4.11 gears, 13.0 ET @ 102 mph) pulled high 1.7's.

This Camaro, with ZZ4/CC-q-jet, 2500 stall, 3550 lbs, 3.23 gears, 14.0 ET @ 95 mph, would do 2.0 60's (I think it had a 1.997 quirk run one night).

I always thought it would be a lot of fun to race a stick car.....

Except for the breaking stuff, it has been fun. Especially putting a .039 package on a tranny brake car.

It might be possible to merge the QP links with the BMR, to end up with something like shagwell makes. Or, local outfit that does roll cages & exhaust might be able to fab up one to pick up the QP brackets.
What you have will work, it just needs an extra leg on the 9" bracket. If you were to put two tabs in the middle of the tq arm mount surface and two on the axle tube just outside of the center chunk you could run an adjustable link with rod ends that would stabilize the side-to-side flex of that mount. If that were stable, the tq arm rod ends would only be loaded in thrust as they are intended.

Two rod ends, a threaded tube, and 4 plates. Fairly simple solution.

This is what I would do...I also don't think these were intended to be used with an adjustable torque arm like you have mentioned because when I spoke with the owner he really emphasized the pinion angle adjustment with a stock tq arm. I work at QP and actually cut the steel for those mounts last week interestingly enough

Now that I'm really thinging about it, you could also fairly easily fab up a tab that bolted on with the pinion support and was tied to the bracket. - It really wouldn't take much to tie it securely to stop any side-to-side movement/flex.

I had thought of both of those, in fact. Bolting to the pinion support seems simpler, although I wasn't sure if adding stress to that part of the carrier housing was a good idea. Bracing to the axle tube should also work.

Still using that Torque arm?
Looks like I have to fab one up for my FAB 9 housing.
You would think that these would just be available....

Like I said, I'd keep the BMR arm as intended, and just re-work that mount a little to make it solid. You could indeed keep it adjustable as Matt noted, but there's not really a need with the tq arm being adjustable.

I do my 8.8 conversion similiar, but I build a custom tq arm that fits directly to it.

No. My issues centered around the way QP did their TA mount. It was not stable side-to-side, so stuff kept breaking/bending. Would probably be fine for a stock TA or something only street driven.

I ended up going with an S&W torque arm & mount. Extremely stout piece. Reused the BMR cross member for it.

Then I sold the car this past spring.
