Stock LG4 ET's????
hey gang,
as soem of you may have heard i finally own an f-body again. i picked up an all original 1983 Z28 hardtop. i plan to start modding it as soon as i get it through NJ inspection.
i was jsut wondering what kind of times i shoudl be expecting as a baseline for teh car.
it is a hard top, power windows/locks/hatch release and a/c. it is pushing the factory 3.23 posi and a 700r4.
thanks
tim

Car: 2006 Corvette
Engine: LS2
Transmission: T56
Axle/Gears: 3.42s
i have almost the exact same car but mine is an 84' (LG4 auto, 3.23s). i ran it 100% factory stock... the only things i did to it were remove the air cleaner assembly and cut off the A/C belt. i ran 16.0 three times with the best being a 16.03 at 85.21mph w 2.35 60ft.
right now im working on building up the old LG4. its getting fully serviced ( the 16.0 runs were on the original plugs, wires, fluids, etc) and im doing a few small mods while im in there. with each mod done to the car i will drag and dyno test it to see any gains in performance. look for a post detailing my latest round of mods soon

thanks.
i plan to do teh saem for mine. i have sooo much stuff left from my odl car that it will eb a while before i actually buy any performance parts or touch anythign more than the air cleaner on the engine.
i am plannign to go about the performance gains from more of a chassis point of view. gears, convertor, shift kit, after market suspension piece, and weight reduction.
i will detail and post every gain that i make and every penny that i spend on it.
later

I think the 82's were in the 17's range When I got my car, probably would have ran 25 seconds lol 4 flat lobes on the cam and tired. Got it down to 15.21 but probably could have gotten down to 14.9x.
