do you have an open or posi rearend? what kind of tires are you on? a good launch for my car with 3.73 posi and 255/60/15 tires is about 2500 rpms. don't just sidestep the clutch, keep your foot on the pedal and engage it quickly.

3.73 open? did you buy that? you don't come across many open 3.73s. i'd say experiment with about 2000 rpms to start and work from there, every car is different and so are the drivers so experimentation is necessary. remember, t5s and stock 10 bolts are weak and the less shock loading you apply, the longer the driveline will live.

No I did not buy it it came with the car when i bought it. the build sheet says 373 but when i stomp on the gas i leave one track. Could the posi be broken? Did posi come with drum brakes b/c that is what I have?

i don't think they ever built non posi 3.73s. you may want to search previous posts to find out for sure. the posi in 7.5 inch 10 bolts is a gov lock system and they do break easily so i guess that could be the reason.

that's on aodd way to launch badbird. why do you need the brake? unless you were not on level ground, there is no need to have your foot on the brake.

I will contribute to the drifting topic... next time your rear tires are in the air, turn one tire, if the other turns in the same direction you have posi... if they turn in opposite directions it is either one tire fire or a broken posi.
