Any suggestions for the 06 nats?

Bear in mind keep it reasonable, and let's stay away from the usual "I want it 5 miles from *my* house" replies.

Not in June. You have the Power tour the first week, GM Nats the 3rd week and Superfest the 4th week. I would like to see late July or Early August or even in May sometime. The end of August is the Trans Am Nationals Also.

I am up for anywhere though as long as there are hotels near by and its within a 5 hour range'ish drive. From TGN 03, MD would be about the farthest I would drive from Cleveland.

June is too busy, power tour too. August has the T/A nats in Ohio. So, September seems good. I am in Florida so someplace in the middle would be nice.

I doubt the camping would go over well with my fiance, even though I'd be fine with it. Another suggestion I have, (since apperently Eric spent alot on last years gathering) is to have everyone bring food & drink.

Like yourselves a couple of years ago we tried the idea of not paying until you get there, and like yourself the major organisor got stuck with a large bill from people not showing up. So yes Prepay is the best way to go.

I don't know how big your gatherings are in the states, in Australia 300 cars is doing very well and thats all makes and models of US cars not just one generation of one make and model.

Some other ideas you might want to consider.

For the food, drinks ect ect, shift the risk.

If your using prepay you will have a good idea of the numbers expected, with this info you can offer to a non-profit org. like scouts or someone similar to use it as a fund raising venture for them. You supply the venue, and people and they take the risk of catering over. All profit made goes to them of course.

This way you negate the risk of the catering and it takes the pressure off you.

Advertising: Use other car shows and network with other event organisors and internet sites. Woodward Ave and the Trans Am nats will both be before your event. Find someone going to these events and get them to put out flyers. Even now not everyone lives and breaths on the net, something about technology scares them

On a side note:

I'm impressed you put something like this together so quickly. Most shows I've been involved in take 12mths and a team of people to pull it off. Well done.
