TGNats 2005 - A -MUST- READ! :]
First off, just a few quick reminders in case anyone missed anything in the treads:
- traffic laws are obviously in force in the park, 25mph [or the posted limit] max in the park.
- absolutly NO burnouts, aggressive driving, etc in the park.
- Official start time is 11am both days. [Saturday and Sunday]
- state park admission is $3 per car, which is collected by the park official at the gate.
- Thirdgen Nationals admission is collected by myself or a staff member when you get into the show area. Again costs are as follows:
-- $10 per car for the show
-- $10 per person for lunch/etc.
-- $0 for kids
[So this would mean that 1 person with one car would be $23 all together. PLEASE everyone make sure to get paid up and registered, I really would like to minimize my loss if at all possible.]
- Once checked in, each car will get a slip to put on the dash for voting, each attendee will get a voting sheet along with a wrist band showing that you are checked in and paid up.
- We will be having hamburgers/hot dogs/chips/soda/water/beans/etc/etc/etc for lunch.
- There are picnic tables at the park, but you will probably want to bring folding chairs too.
- We are NOT RENTING OUT THE TRACK ON SATURDAY. We are going for test and tune, whatever the track charges is what you pay. From the online information it's $35 per car to race and $10 per person to spectate.
- no beer, etc.
- Tshirts are $16 each or two for $30, and will be available both days. Sizes are L/XL/2XL. There are around 60 tshirts total, and are sold on a first come first serve basis.
- The show day will have three classes, 3rdgen camaro / 3rd gen firebird / non-thirdgen. 1/2/3 place for each.
- please be curtious to other park patrons, park officials, etc.
- at the park trash is on a pack in, pack out plan. I will be bring trash cans and bags, just be sure to use them.
- We will be convoying up to the track on Saturday, we are metting up at Arundel Mills outside of Bass Pro shop @ 9:30am. More details are in the thread for convoying.
Park information
North Point State Park
8000 North Point Road
Edgemere, MD 21219
http://www.homestead.com/northpointstatepark/
My cliff notes on directions to the park:
From Northern MD/ points from North:
695 South Exit 42 - North Point Blvd./Sparrows Point. Bear right onto 151 South -- North Point Blvd. First left (Edgemere/Ft. Howard) onto North Point Rd. (into edgemere) you will pass a wawa on the left, then sparrows point HS on the left, stay LEFT at the fork in the road, strait for about a 1/2 mile, park entrance is on left. (bay shore road)
From Southern MD/VA/DC area
(I-95N to I 695 East, key bridge)
I95 North to 695E to Exit 43 -- Sparrows Point. Left (at ramp) onto Rte 158 -Bethlehem Blvd towards Edgemere/Fort Howard. Proceed to traffic light at North Point Blvd. Straight through the light onto North Point Rd. (into edgemere) you will pass a wawa on the left, then sparrows point HS on the left, stay LEFT at the fork in the road, strait for about a 1/2 mile, park entrance is on left. (bay shore road)
Basically after you get off of I-695 (and onto north point road if you are coming from the North, it's the first left) you stay strait on the main road until you hit the park. It will be on the left. (If you end up at Fort Howard Park, that's the end of the road, you have gone too far! It's back about 2 miles.)
Also, please note that mapquest says North Point Road/RT 20. there is no signs for RT20, just North Point Road, which are the same. Just worth mentioning.
NOTE: The toll for the Key Bridge is $2 each way.
Hopefully I covered everything, see ya there!!
