'06 General Information

The East Coast F-Body Natioanls is an event hosted by the New Jersey F-Body Owners Association each year to celebrate our clubs anniversary. We feature a car show, bracket and heads up drag racing, give aways, prizes, and much much more.
The 2006 East Coast Nats are going to be a bit expanded from the '05 Nats. The addition of an Open Electronics Bracket, some modifications to the car show ballots, the addition of several new special awards in the car show, and an earlier start in the planning and sponsor hunting will make this year's Nats even more fun than last.

So is NHRA 11.49 and quicker you need a 6 point? Same as IHRA or is it still:
NHRA = 11.99
IHRA = 11.49

Island is a PITA - they make you have a driveshaft loop and some other things if your car runs faster than 14.0. They will probably impound my car if they found out it runs below 12.0. LOL

island is one of the safest facilities around. while other tracks are busy worrying about mufflers or if your tires have enough tread, island actually follows what the NHRA has determined to be safe.

Okay, call me stupid. Im thinking about going, but ive never raced at a track before. I just put a 383 in my camaro, and i know its going to run 12's, maybe low 11s depending how i drive it. What will I have to do to my car so I can race besides a DS loop?.

if you go faster than 11.50 you need a 6pt roll bar, a 5pt harness, and a fire jacket. i think when you are in the 12's they also require longer wheel studs.
i woudl suggest checking out NHRA.com for the exact rules or you can contact the track through their website, Island Dragway Home and they will be able to give you the information you need.

Wink Sounds like fun

Howis this coming along? I'd like to bring a group for the first time!

Also, what about food at the event? Will their be vendors? Or is it just the track that is providing concessions? Cuase that would be a sad sad state of affairs, most tracks lack on the concessions.

How's the events schedule coming along? Is this only for Fri & Sat?

What happens after the car show?

concessions are provided by the track. which is pretty good actually. they have the normal menu of fried foods, burgers, and soft drinks along with ice cream and other treats another good thing is that their prices are not as bad as most tracks i have been to.

the main event is on sunday, august 20th. friday night, the 18th, teh track will be holding a little f-body vs mustang to get the weekend rolling.

on sunday the car show and drag racing will all be going on at the same time. we will be giving out trophies/prizes some time in the early to mid afternoon.
