how's everyone's basement, er i mean garage?
well, i didn't go to work today..practically every road was backed up from where I live. Butterfield, I-290, I-355, North Ave, Roosevelt Rd, certain parts of Route 83....
It literally took me 25 minutes just to get out of my own town. Hope everyone's basement is dry and hope your toys in the garage is nice and safe...

I drove my IROC to work from Schiller Oark to River Grove and I don't even know how I made it. Standing water everywhere and I Wasn't taking chances with my thirdgen... Now she's sitting on nice high pavement in the parking lot... still don't know how I am getting home...

my garage was fine thank the lord. My basement had some water. Not much. But my brother who lives about a mile from me is able to row a boat down his street.

saw one of my favorite places to eat hot dogs: Gene n Judes
about 3 feet submerged in water
since they are practically right off of river road and the desplains river, i'm sure it ain't gonna be open for quite some time. UGH!
Elmhurst filed for state of emergency earlier, Villa Park and Lombard was shut down.....i guess all we can do now is just wait for things to get back to normal...whatever that is...

I work right behind Triton College at a distribution center... it's a total pain in the *** to get to work. RIP Gene n Jude's for a while but they should be prepared for these kinds of floods by now...
I guess ya'll will have to eat at Superdawg for now (much better hot dog, way overpriced)

Spent ALL NIGHT & most of Thursday using a 5gal & 12gal shop vac trying to keep up with it, I'm talking 18hrs non-stop!!
Never got more than a couple inches deep at the worst.
That's where some of our interior stuff is, but thankfully it was all on shelves!!
THANK GOODNESS THAT'S OVER WITH!!

I live in the "sticks" the farm fields sucked up a lot of the water, the fox was really high though drove around my area and only one road next to a river had about a foot. Just glad it wasn't all snow or I'd still be digging out.

2 sump pits, 2 110V pumps, 1 12V back up. Dry as a bone, thank God.
